Sphere (Orbital Implants)

The average orbital volume in an adult is 30 ml. The eye volume is 6-7 ml. as much. With the removal of the eye, there is a 25-30% decrease in the orbital volume. Considering that an average prosthesis volume is 2-2.5 ml, a deficiency of 3.5-4 ml will remain. It is a form of implant to be placed in the orbit to compensate for the volume loss that occurs and to reduce the weight of the prosthesis at the same time, to alleviate the load on the lower lid. Mostly used implants are acrylic ones. The important thing in this implant is that the polymerization is fully ensured and the surface is quite uniform. Its dimensions are from 12 mm to 22 mm. Spheres produced by ERC have an acrylic structure and are in sterile packages.
